Just discovered another blatant ripoff, this time on the French website "Rikoooo Worldwide". Since last year they have apparently been distributing modified versions of the Draken 3.1 installer in two flavors: one for FS2004 and one for FSX (!). Apart from the fact that they have modified and repackaged the contents of the installers and recompiled them, they have also extracted parts of the Flight Manual and published it on their download pages.

To their dubious credit I can say that they removed the files within minutes after I notified them. But it should never have happened in the first place. I also fear that I am not the only author being submitted to this kind of violation on the Rikoooo website, as they seem to be systematically repackaging all downloads using their own installers. Scary.

There is no possibility whatsoever for me to keep track of all the various channels for distributing FS addons, so I usually stumble upon these abominations by pure chance. If you see any of our work available for direct download from any other website than Avsim or Flightsim.com (who have approval from me to host our stuff) they are most probably in breach of the EULA. Please notify me if you discover something of this kind. I may even open a new section in the General forum for reporting suspected violations.

Needless to say, the only versions that will be supported by Bookmark are those actually made and distributed by Bookmark.

EDIT:  Removed a comment regarding Simviation as they have now removed all files that are in violation of our EULA.

Bug tracker maintenance

Doing some maintenance on the bug tracker today, trying to fix the horrible "New Ticket" page. New tickets can not be added to the tracker while we are doing this, so if you can't wait, please post your bug/issue reports in the FSX beta forum and I will add them to the tracker later.

EDIT: Maintenance is finished, you can now add tickets to the tracker again.

Windows 7 file access problem

In Windows 7, the configuration file /Gauges/j35/j35_config.ini  is installed as read-only, which means that it will not be updated when you do something in the cockpit. The next time you load the flight, all radio frequencies etc. are reset and the aircraft will be "dark and cold" since all the electrical bus and fuel valve switches default to zero.

The simplest solution is to right-click on either the main Gauges folder or the j35 folder inside it, uncheck the read-only flag, press OK and confirm in the next dialog that you want to apply changes to all files in the folder (you will have to provide Administrator permission to do this).

Missing textures

Two textures were missing in the 4.0b01 installer. My bad.

Right-click on these links to download and save the missing textures: fsx_darkparts.bmp and stores.bmp, then put them in the /Airplanes/Saab_35_40b01/texture/ folder.

The installer has now been updated to version 4.0b01a. No other changes have been made, only the added textures.
