Missing Textures

In this one it would appear that the antenna and inside the inlets have no texture. I haven't looked, but I hope the inlet itself is textured.

** I only highlighted one side, but the following issues seem to be on both sides.
In this shot it looks like the textures on the wing don't cover the leading edges. The elevator also appears to have the same issue on the trailing edge.
Also, the two pieces on the fuselage that stick out appear to not have top textures.
I don't know if this matters, but there also appear to be no textures in the exhaust.
I hope that helps!

Re: Missing Textures
OK, I think there may be some misconceptions about how this aircraft is painted (see photos below):

Generally, if a texture is missing the part will appear black unless it has a reflection map, or is self-illuminated, etc. If no material has been applied at all it will have the geometry color from GMax. AFAIK there are no missing textures anymore in the updated beta package - although I may be wrong, as always...
If you see a black part it is (hopefully) meant to be black.
Anyway, thanks for your input Chris, I will check the texturing again and make sure that I am not missing something.
Cheers /Tom
- - The belly VHF/UHF antenna is actually a matte black plastic.
- - The inside of the ram air inlets do have a texture, although it is a very dark brown or black, as in real life.
- - The leading edges on the wings and stab are supposed to be unpainted = bare metal. I may have been sloppy with the UVW vertices though, will check.
- - With "the two pieces of the fuselage that stick out" I suppose you mean the footsteps beside the elevons. They were covered with a black non-slip coating on most of the grey-painted 35J:s.

Re: Missing Textures
OK, I went over the texturing again and will try to close this issue.
The leading edges of wings and fin are textured but as I said in the previous post they are "bare metal" which means that they are glossy and reflective, as opposed to the painted surfaces which are matte. I overdid the reflectivity though, which means that at certain angles the edges will look almost black. I have adjusted the specular map and the fresnel effect on this material, it looks better now.
The insides of the ram air intakes and the exhaust are textured a solid brown-black. This is cheating on my part, but not many people stick their eyes inside those parts. They will have more detailed textures in the final version.
